Facebook is a splendid way to keep in touch with your friends and family but its News Feed can be an unmanageable mess. In case you enter FB sweepstakes, take quizzes or else simply interact with companies on the platform, your News Feed will become messy with so many posts. Though some of these posts will be interesting, some will probably just take up your time for nothing. Evidently, you’ll simply end up missing the posts you actually want to see. Fortunately, it’s quite easy to fine-tune your News Feed to only show the content you want to see. This guide will teach you how to clean up your Facebook News Feed. Let’s get started.
Clean up Your Facebook News Feed
Use the Snooze Button
At times, some people jam-packed your News Feed with posts that you just don’t want to see. If you have also come across such FB friends who get on your nerves, opt for the new Facebook Snooze button to mute them immediately. The Snooze feature enables you to temporarily hide your most annoying FB pals, Pages, and even Groups from your feed for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. All you need to do is simply tap on the three dots button next to the post of the person, brand, group or news outlet you wish to drive out from your news feed and tap on the Snooze option.
Do you want someone’s posts to remain in your news feed but with less frequency? Now, rather than unfollowing that friend, you can choose to see fewer posts from them. Just tap on the three-dot button next to the post you don’t want to see and tap on the Hide Post option.
The next way to clean up your Facebook News Feed is to unfollow a friend whose posts annoy the heck out of you. Facebook’s Unfollow feature allows you to stay friends with someone but stop seeing their posts on your timeline. Simply tap on the three-dot button next to the person you no longer want to hear from and tap on the Unfollow option.
In case you’re all set to part ways with an FB pal, navigate to his/her profile, tap on the downward arrow and choose the Block option. Once done, they will no longer be able to see your posts and tag you in any of their posts. Best of all, they will not be notified that you unfriended them.
Report a Post
Have you seen something offensive in your FB timeline? Well, you can report it to Facebook. All you need to do is just tap on the three-dot button next to the post you wish to report and tap on the Give feedback on this post option. The social media platform will provide you a handful of options to describe how the post is abusive: harassment, violence, self-injury, suicide, hate speech, and others. Facebook will review the post you report and remove it if it violates the Facebook Community Standards.
