Enjoy New Interface and Features
You will take time to get used to the interface. For beginners, search terms will be entered in the address bar. The “contextual button” having three dots contains shortcuts like bookmarking, screenshots, emailing and more. Click hamburger menu button and set up the main toolbar the way you like and tap on Customize. Then add and remove buttons as per requirement.
Quantum has a few tricks up the sleeves, having built-in screenshot tool which allows you to snap the visible screen portion. This is accessible from the three dots menu in the address bar and this will automatically upload screenshots. Download the image to clipboard or copy it.
Saving pages is now easy with Pocked baked in. This helps to save important things that you wish to read later with just a click.
Sync desktop and mobile browsers
Fortunately, Quantum is also available on all iOS and Android devices and those versions can also save your passwords, bookmarks and history in sync with system’s browsing activity. Beam any active page from PC to smartphone by clicking on the three dots menu.
Enabling these features is simple. Click the hamburger menu button and click on the first option to setup Sync. You’ve made an account with email address and password. Once done, login to your Firefox account and you are done.
Set Quantum as default browser
If you like your new setup and want to make it your default browser, click hamburger menu button and then “Make Default”. Instead of Chrome, your new browser will be launched and open whenever you wish to use it.
And that’s how you can switch from Chrome to Firefox Quantum while reclaiming previous system resources. Happy browsing!
