To do so, navigate to the Settings section, select your Echo device and then select Wake word.
Optional: Connect Echo Dot to an External Speaker
The final and optional step to set up Amazon Echo Dot is to decide how you want to hear your Echo. There’re three options: Bluetooth, Audio Cable, and No Speakers. The Dot lets you connect your device to a speaker using Bluetooth or an audio cable for superior audio. In case you’re not willing to use either of these options, the last option will play all audios via Dot’s basic speakers. All you need to do is select No Speakers option.
