A lot of users effectively use the Notes app to store and save sensitive information like monthly installments, investments, and more. The app helps you lock any note that you would like to keep secure from those who may use your device. In this article, we’ll tell you about how to password protect notes on iPhone. Password Protect Notes on iPhone
- First of all, launch the Notes app on your iPhone
- Next, tap on the note you would like to lock. Here, we’re going to put a password on this note containing serial numbers to some of the devices
- This will bring a number of options but you will need to tap on the gray lock icon
- Next, you will be taken to another screen from where you will enter the password to lock notes you want to password protect. Enter the same password again to verify. Make sure the password is strong enough to really protect your notes
- Next, hit the Done button at the top-right side of your device’s screen
- You will be taken back to the Notes app where you will see a padlock appear next to the note. It will start off in an unlocked state
- To lock your note, you can tap on Lock Now at the bottom of your device’s screen
- The note will now be locked and all of the preview text that you were able to see earlier will be gone and replaced with either Locked or Unlocked option
- When you’ll open your locked note, you’ll need to tap on View Note
- In case you have Touch ID, you can use it to open your locked notes but you will also have the option to enter password
- After that, you will have access to your locked notes. Once done, you can then tap on the unlocked padlock icon in the top-right corner of your device’s screen to lock it back
- You can also go back to the main screen of the Notes app and tap on Lock Now at the bottom of your device’s screen to lock all unlocked notes at once
- To remove password protection completely from a note, you can swipe on it and tap on the gray lock icon again
- You will be asked to use Touch ID or simply enter password to verify but after that, the note will be completely unlocked
