How to Save Web Pages on Your Smartphone

While browsing the Internet on your smartphone, there are times when you come across an interesting page or article. However, you may not have enough time to read it right away and one possible option is to bookmark that web page. There are rare cases when some web pages disappear with the change in their URL and it’s difficult to find them later. That’s where saving the web page to read it later is a good option.   1. On Android

Google has lately introduced the offline mode right into its Chrome web browser. The feature lets you save web pages on your Android phone, which you can view later. Let’s have a look at how to use Chrome’s offline mode:

  • Launch the Chrome browser on your Android phone
  • Open the web page you want to save
  • Tap on the three-dot icon at the upper-right side
  • A drop-down menu will arise. Tap on the Download button that looks like a down arrow

Now, you can close the web page as well as the browser without worrying about losing access to the content when you’re not connected to the Internet. In this way, you can download web pages on Android.

In order to access the saved web pages, you need to navigate to the Downloads section. In the Chrome browser, tap on the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner and select the Downloads option. Here, you’ll a list of the web pages you have downloaded.

Also, you can sort your saved web pages by tapping on the three-line icon in the upper-left corner and selecting the Pages option. If you want to remove a saved web page, tap and hold on the page and then tap on the Delete button.

  1. On iOS

All iPhones and iPads running iOS 9 and later have a new way to save web pages to your device’s storage memory. The steps are as follows:

  • Launch the Safari browser on your iOS device
  • Open the web page you want to save
  • Tap on the Action button (the square button with an arrow) at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap on the Add to Reading List option

The web page has successfully saved to your device. In order to open your Reading List, tap on the Bookmarks button that looks like an open book. Now, tap on the Reading List tab to access your saved web pages.

It’s worth notable that if you’re offline, the reading list will redirect you to the latest version of the saved web pages.
