Avast and Piriform have confirmed that the Windows 32-bit version of CCleaner v5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud v1.07.3191 are affected by the malware. According to Avast, more than 2.27Mn people ran the affected software, which was delivered via a hacked server.

I Don’t Use the Cloud Version. What Should I do?

As CCleaner v5.33.6162 doesn’t update on its own, so if you use the non-cloud version then you may have the infected software. Piriform recommends deleting your current version and downloading a clean and secure version from its official website.

Once you have installed the application, run a check on your system using the malware protection software to be sure that CCleaner didn’t leave any nasty invaders behind.
