Snooze Notifications like Android O with any Android Phone
Thanks to Android developers, you don’t need Android O to have this feature on your device. There are various Android apps in the Google Play Store that let you snooze notifications. Here, we’ll use the Boomerang Notifications app that helps you save or snooze new notifications so that you can view them later.

Let’s have a look on how to snooze notifications like Android O using Boomerang.
- First of all, install the Boomerang Notifications app on your Android device
- Once you’ve installed it, you’ll be welcomed by a set-up guide
- Just go ahead and get through this, but make sure to tap on the Enable button at the bottom of your device’s screen to activate the app
- Next, toggle the switch next to Boomerang to the ON position, and then tap on the Allow button
- Once you’re done, simply press your device’s back button to head back to the app
Boomerang will ask if you’d like to use its notification-saving feature on an individual app or with all apps. The developer recommends that you activate Boomerang for an individual app, so select the first option on your device’s screen, and then hit the Next button.
You’ll get a list of all your installed apps. All you need to do is just scroll through the list and tick the boxes next to any app whose notifications you’d like to save. Once you’re done, tap on the back button.
So, the next time when you receive a notification, either you can tap it to view the message, or you can swipe it left or right to dismiss it. As soon as you perform either of these actions, you’ll instantly get a second notification from the Boomerang app.
You can tap the Save option on the second notification to save a copy of the message you’ve just dismissed and you can view it at any time from Boomerang’s main menu. And you can also go for the Save+Reminder option and you’ll be prompted to choose a time period when the notification you’ve just dismissed will pop up back for a second time. You can choose to be reminded “some time later, some time tomorrow”, or at a custom time. Just make sure to press the Save Reminder button once you’re done.
So this was how you can snooze notifications like Android O. If your Android phone is continuously being flooded with notifications, you can go for Boomerang. The app is very well designed and simple to use. Try using it while we wait for Android O.
