Facebook Profile Picture Guard Feature
Most of the Indian women don’t share their profile pictures online as they’re worried that their photos will be misused by others on the Internet. So, Facebook has introduced its new profile protection feature to ensure the security of Indian women online.
Currently available only on Android devices, the new Facebook Profile Picture Guard feature displays a blue border around your profile picture to give a visual cue of protection. By activating this blue shield to your profile picture, you can reduce the chances of copying your photo by at least 75 percent. In addition, those who’re not your friends on FB won’t be able to tag anyone including themselves, in your profile photo.

How to Use Facebook Profile Picture Guard Feature
There are two methods to use Facebook privacy guard tool on your profile. But, before we get started with the process on how to use Facebook Profile Picture Guard feature, make sure to update your Facebook app to the latest version.
First of all, refresh your News Feed and as you scroll through, you’ll get a message, prompting you to Help Protect Your Profile Picture.
- Tap on Turn on Profile Picture Guard
- You’ll get a screen that shows the benefits of the FB Profile Picture Guard
- Now, tap on the Next button, as shown in the image displayed above
- You’ll see your current profile picture guarded with a blue border or shield around it
- Tap on Save and you’re done!
- Head over to your Facebook profile
- Next, tap on your profile photo
- Scroll down until you find the Turn on Profile Picture Guard option and tap on it
- Once you’re done, tap on Save and the blue border will appear around your profile photo
This way, your profile picture can no longer be downloaded, shared, or sent in a message on Facebook. Besides, you can also add designs to your profile photo to prevent the misuse of your pictures.
In order to add a design to your profile photo, you’ll get the message that reads Add a Design to Your Profile Picture, followed by the Add Design option. You can select any design from a variety of design overlays, and once you’re done, tap on the Next button.
If you find someone has taken your photo and used it to create a new profile, you can always report that person to Facebook. In addition, in the privacy settings of your profile photo, you can always set it to just Friends or a list of custom friends rather than keep it public.
