WhatsApp iOS Update Gets Pinned Chat, Multi-Format File Support, and More

A new WhatsApp iOS update has rolled out, bringing many new features for iPhone users. The update bumps the app to the 2.17.40 version and brings the ability to pin chats, share all file type, photo building, and much more.

With the WhatsApp pinned chat feature, you can pin your favorite chats to the top of the chat list, making it easier to quickly find them. In order to use this feature in the WhatsApp iOS update, simply swipe right on a chat in the conversation list and tap on the Pin or Unpin option.

The next new feature that comes with the latest update of the messaging app is WhatsApp multi-format file support. By using this feature, you can share any file type with your friends. Also, it wouldn’t limit you to select the file types like before. All you need to do is just open a chat, hit the Attach button, and choose the file you want to send.

Furthermore, the WhatsApp latest iOS update adds support for deleting a group of photos instantly by just tapping and holding them. All thanks to the new photo bundling feature, you can send a chunk of photos right after the other are bundled together automatically to save chat screen space. To delete these bundled photos at once, you’ll need to tap and hold the photo album or 3D Touch is required and you’ll be accompanied by the Forward All and Delete All options. Tap on the Delete All option and all the photos will be deleted at once from the chat without the need to select each photo as was the case before.

WhatsApp iOS update

Hot on the heels of the release of WhatsApp iPhone update last month, the Facebook-owned messaging giant is back in news once again. Apart from the above-mentioned WhatsApp iOS update features, the company is also anticipated to roll out a new feature that could let users recall and undo sent messages. For many users across the globe, this could be one of the most expected features to come on the app.

Interestingly, the new WhatsApp iOS update also has a hidden feature that might be most attention-grabbing of them all. The instant messenger is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow you to watch YouTube videos within the app. That means you’ll not need to leave the app to enjoy the latest trending videos. However, the feature is not available to everyone just yet.

Once it rolls out, you can watch YouTube videos in picture-in-picture mode directly within the app. Well, the feature has only seen for iOS users. There’s no word yet on whether the functionality will come to Android users too or not.

You can download the latest WhatsApp iOS update from the App Store.
