It’s a simple process to add apps on your device’s screen, whether you want to add a Slide Over pane or simply enter Split View. To add an app directly from the Dock, follow the steps listed below:

    1. First of all, swipe up from the bottom of your device’s screen to pull up the Dock

  1. Next, tap and drag the app to invoke Multitasking mode

  1. Now, drag the app out of the Dock up to your device’s screen and you’re done!

  1. Press the Home button to return to your Home screen
  2. Now, tap and drag the app to invoke Multitasking mode
  3. While dragging the app, you need to use a second finger to tap on another app you’d like to use

If the second app is on another Home screen, you can swipe and then tap while dragging on the first app. So this way you can use Slide Over and Split View on iPad and add apps either from Dock or from Home screen.

As soon as you’ve selected the app you want to use, you can now pick the type of multitasking you want to carry out: Slide Over or Split View. All you need to do is just drag the app to the center of your device’s screen to invoke Slide Over.

        1. Position the Split View slider so that the app you would like to turn into a Slide Over pane is in 25% view
        2. Now, pull down on the Split View pane’s Edit handle at the top of your device’s screen until you view the main app pane bump over and then release the drag

        • To reposition the app on the left side of your device’s screen, tap and drag the top of the Slide Over window to the left side
        • Tap and drag the top of the Slide Over window to the right side to reposition the app on the right side of your device’s screen.

To reposition an app in Split View, follow the steps listed below:

        • You can drag on the vertical Edit handle in the middle of your device’s screen to reposition the size of each Split View

        • Follow the instructions for moving a Slide Over pane to the left side of your device’s screen and then turn it back into a Split View pane
