Facebook poke was considered to be a calling card to annoy people digitally. Fleetingly ubiquitous, simple to use, and possibly aggravating, the poke might have been one of the most unpleasant things about this social media experience since 2013. Nevertheless, Facebook pokes might be making a resurgence in the form of ‘Hello’.
The social media platform has reintroduced one of its original features to profiles that will help you say hello to anyone with the push of happy waving button. Using this new feature, you can say hello to your friends or attract your friend’s attention.
The Facebook poke might be considered a creepy feature but it seems to have added into a simple and polite way to say hello to anyone. It’s the renaissance that we’ve never asked for and simultaneously, in not much different than its predecessor.
However, this FB poke will be rebranded in the form of Hello, letting people know that you want to chat with them but don’t have enough words to say anything else.
The social media platform wants you to spread hello waves to your friends. This gimmicky new social media feature, called Facebook Hello, is essentially a Poke in the form of waving hand. It allows you to notify people that you want to talk but are not quite creative enough to say something.
As per the reports, this new Hello feature is being tested only for the U.K-based Facebook users. The latest feature appears to be popping up on both desktop and mobile, and comes like waving a hand. Well, it’s basically like you’re sending that emoji on Tinder to that person you don’t know, to whom you don’t want to say anything, but whose attention you’d like to attract anyway. Surely, this new little feature works on a dating app with strangers. But does it work among friends? Well, only time will tell.
According to screenshots of the feature, it’s primarily recommended for folks that you’ve just added as a friend (don’t know quite as well). Perhaps this next-generation Facebook poke hello will let you get the ball rolling on a new friendship. Go ahead and spread Hello waves to people!
