In an attempt to win its ongoing battle against piracy, Google is soon gearing up to ban Torrent sites. According to some reports, the company has been censured by the Hollywood spokespersons for endorsing piracy.

Not only will Google block Torrent websites from its search results, but other search engines like Yahoo and Bing are also planning to do the same. Due to a number of complaints and negative feedback received from entertainment giants, Google is now planning to ban Torrent sites.

In order to steer away from a ‘promoting’ piracy tag, Google got into a bull session with other search engines as well as entertainment studios. The discussion was chaired by UK’s Intellectual Property Office, which was reportedly resulted in an agreement being reached to resolve the appearance of Torrent sites in search results.
