Before you get started, ensure that you are following these steps on a second smartphone or a PC. Another thing to ensure before proceeding further is to make a backup of your entire data in advance. Lastly, you will need a lightning cable to complete the downgrade process.
Make sure you pick the right cable for the purpose and it doesn’t have any issues with connectivity. If the connection breaks down at any point in the downgrade process, you may end up with a bricked iPhone. Bet you wouldn’t want to do that!

Downgrade iOS 10 to iOS 9
Step 1: First thing you need to do is turn off your smartphone. To do this, hold the power/unlock button and slide to switch it off
Step 2: Once you have turned off your smartphone, you need to connect it to the PC with iTunes installed
Sep 3: Now long press the Home button
Step 4: With the home button already pressed, connect your smartphone with the lightning cable
Step 5: Wait till the screen flashes the iTunes logo
Step 6: Your PC would pop up iTunes. In case it doesn’t, you can manually open iTunes on your computer
Step 7: iTunes should automatically get notified of the device connected in “Recovery Mode”. You will see a pop up asking you if you want to “Restore your iPhone”. Click on the option to proceed further
Step 8: Once you click on Restore, it will show another popup asking you to “Restore and Update”. Click on the option
Step 9: Now the next screen will be of iOS 9 software updater. Click “Next” to proceed with the software process (downgrade to iOS 10 to iOS 9). Once done, click on “Agree” and start downloading iOS 9 on the PC
Step 10: After the download process is complete, repeat the entire process.
