There’s a good news for all Windows 10 PC and tablet users. After six months of announcing it at Build 2016, Facebook has finally launched the Instagram app for Windows 10 PCs and tablets.
For those who don’t know, Instagram app was initially launched on Windows 10 in April, but that time it was only available to Windows 10 Mobile. That time, Facebook had promised to launch the app on Windows 10 PCs and tablets as well and now the social media giant has fulfilled its promise.
The newly announced app packs a versatile collection of features like Live Tiles, notifications and the ability to view stories.
In general, you’ll find almost all the features which are already available on the Windows 10 app such as search, explore and Instagram Direct messaging.
One feature that’ll definitely grab your attention is the ability to view Stories, and post and edit photos (things which you can’t do on the web version i.e Instagram.com). However, you can only use the feature if you own a PC or tablet with touch screen and rear camera.
Well, if you want to take silly selfies and post them directly to Instagram, you’re most welcome in the app. It lets you effectively edit your photos to give them the final touch before you share them on Instagram.
The only turn off you’ll find within Instagram App for PCs and tablets is that it is not very well optimized for large screens. You’ll find out that there’s a lot of wasted space on the left and right side. So, one thing is pretty clear that the app is especially designed to work better on tablets, which are generally used in portrait mode and if you’re going to use it on your Windows 10 PC, chances are that you’ll not find the application pretty impressive.
Anyways, you can download Instagram App for Windows 10 PCs and tablets here and try it yourself. This way, you’ll get to know about the new app much better.
Stay tuned for more updates!
