Android Nougat 7.1 update announced: Here’s what you need to know

Google has finally announced the first update to its latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Dubbed as Android Nougat 7.1, the latest update comes with a variety of new features as well as several bug fixes.

Some of the features of Android Nougat 7.1 update are Pixel specific, as Pixel smartphones will be the first to receive it.

The Android Nougat 7.1 update will make its debut in Pixel smartphones. It’s still not clear when the devices outside of Google’s ecosystem will get the latest update. For now, all we know is that Google will soon launch a developer preview for 7.1 to Nexus smartphones, but the company will not be offering Google Assistant and pixel specific features for these smartphones.

Hope we see a full-fledged version of the latest Android update on other devices sometime soon.
