iPhone 7 rumor pot is on fire with red-hot rumors. Adding a new pouring to the pot, a Japanese website revealed that the upcoming iPhone device might introduce a new Deep Blue color variant to awaited iPhone 7.
Popular Japanese website Mac Otakara has issued a new report in which it claims that the upcoming iPhone iteration might be dropping the “Space Gray” color variant. Instead, the device will be available in a new Deep Blue feel. The other 3 regular color variants Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver versions will remain intact.
The report issued by the Japanese website also reveals that iPhone 7 will retain same LCD display as employed by the iPhone 6, 6s and 6s Plus.
Apple is expected to switch to OLED screens in 2017, therefore, until then no major display upgrades, in any of the Apple devices, can be expected from the Cupertino tech giant.
Ever since Space Gray was introduced with the launch of iPhone 5s in 2013, it has become a common staple in several Apple products including the iPad Air and iPad Pro devices. In 2013, Space Gray replaced Slate Black color variant introduced in iPhone 5.
Like other features and upgrades, Apple has constantly added (and removed) color variants to its iPhone series. In 2008, Apple added a new White color option to its iPhone 3G. The White color variant was later renamed Silver Gray with the launch of iPhone 5s. With iPhone 5s, Apple also introduced a new color option – Gold. A pink shade of the Gold variant named Rose Gold was introduced with the launch of the recent iPhone 6s.
Apple is most likely to announce iPhone 7 in September, which may or may not be accompanied by the Deep Blue color variant revelation. If rumors are to be believed then the new iPhone iteration will feature a much similar design to its most recent predecessors i.e. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.
Though, there isn’t much to change in the design front, the iPhone 7 is expected to bring a number of other significant changes. One of these changes might be the elimination of the 3.5 mm headphone jack, all to give a thin built to it.
Other changes expected in the upcoming iPhone 7 are:
- A10 Processor – iPhone 7 is likely to include a faster A10 processor. iPhone 6 series makes use of the A9 processor.
- Waterproof – Other than keeping the device water-resistant, the iPhone maker might be introducing a new aquaphobic built to iPhone 7 that will give invulnerability to the device against water.
- Faster connectivity – iPhone 7 is expected to feature faster network connectivity with the inclusion of speedy network chips that will give a boost to LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity of the device.
- Antenna bands – Next iPhone iteration is also expected to come with a properly adjusted antenna band that will look more stylish than the present antenna band adjustments made on the iPhone 6 series.
The Japanese website, Mac Otakara (macotakara.jp) is a reputable source for getting info on Apple products. The website obtains all its info from trusted sources, and has a good record of providing accurate leaks. That said, you can’t believe something completely you’re given a confirmation of. So wait for the announcement from the iPhone maker itself.
